Your
general dentistry care
Dr. Lévesque and his team put their expertise at the service of your health to offer you comprehensive and precise care.
We take care of your overall oral health by thoroughly examining your teeth, tongue, gums, palate, inner cheeks, and soft tissues to detect various abnormalities. We can screen for more than 200 oral conditions and recognize the links between oral health and certain systemic pains or diseases.
Wisdom tooth extraction
Wisdom tooth extraction helps prevent common complications such as tooth decay, infection, periodontitis, or damage to the second molar, especially when these teeth are partially erupted or remain impacted.
Early intervention reduces the risk of complex surgery and nerve damage. The procedure is performed under sedation, and we provide simple post-operative advice to help you heal quickly.
Complete dental exam
The foundation of our general practice is a comprehensive dental examination. Dr. Lévesque makes it his duty to provide an accurate assessment of your oral health. This examination is essential at any age, regardless of your level of oral hygiene awareness.
Visual inspection
A comprehensive oral exam consists of a visual inspection of several areas, including:
- teeth;
- tongue;
- gums;
- palate;
- inner cheeks;
- soft tissues.
The dentist may also examine the neck area (glands and lymph nodes) and request X-rays.
Why have a dental exam?
During the exam, we are able to detect various abnormalities:
- presence of cavities, damaged or missing teeth;
- inflammation of the gums;
- broken or defective repairs or restorations;
- cysts or suspicious tissue;
- malocclusion;
- bruxism;
- jaw joint disorder.
Following a comprehensive examination, you will receive an accurate diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan to improve your oral health in the immediate and long term.
Dental hygiene
Our dental hygienists help you keep your teeth and gums healthy with regular thorough cleanings. We use the latest scaling and polishing technologies for comfortable, professional care.
Good oral hygiene practices help prevent the buildup of bacteria on the teeth and along the gumline, which gradually attacks the enamel, causing tooth decay and gum disease, among other problems.
Sedation in dentistry
Sedation is a valuable solution for people who experience particular apprehensions or challenges when it comes to dental care. It allows our team to provide effective treatment while ensuring your comfort.
Sedation involves administering medication that helps patients relax and feel comfortable during dental treatment. There are several levels of sedation, ranging from light sedation to deep sedation, depending on the patient’s needs and the nature of the procedure.
We invite you to discuss your needs and concerns with our team. Your dentist will be able to recommend the best sedation approach for your situation.
Painless anesthesia
Our clinic is equipped with a computer-assisted painless anesthesia system. This system allows us to numb an area of the oral cavity to ensure your comfort during dental treatment such as filling a cavity, extracting a tooth, performing a root canal treatment, or placing an implant, bridge, or crown.
The anesthetic is administered using a syringe that resembles a pen with a very fine needle. It is not so much the fact that the needle must penetrate the mucosa that causes pain, but rather the liquid that spreads through the tissue. That is why we use a device that delivers the anesthetic in controlled intervals. Since the injection speed is computer-controlled, the patient hardly feels the liquid spreading.
The procedure is comfortable for our patients, young and old, whether they are anxious or not.
Gum grafting
Gum grafting is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist. It is used to restore sufficient gum strength around the teeth and their roots. It can thus halt the progression of gum recession and prevent further tooth loss.
Gum recession is an irreversible phenomenon that causes unpleasant tooth sensitivity when in contact with hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods. Exposed tooth roots are also more vulnerable to decay. In severe cases, the gums are no longer able to stabilize the teeth. The teeth become loose to the point where they may fall out.
When it is absolutely necessary to restore a sufficient amount of gum tissue and stop the progression of receding gums, the dentist performs a gum graft. This is a relatively comfortable solution with modern techniques that corrects much more than just a cosmetic problem.
