Have you heard of SureSmile®?

SureSmile® is an invisible orthodontic solution known for its precision and comfortable, predictable approach. SureSmile® aligners are custom-made trays designed to fit discreetly into your routine while guiding you toward a harmonious smile.

In collaboration with the SureSmile® specialized laboratory, we use digital technology to customize each step of your treatment to effectively control the movement of your teeth.

How do invisible orthodontic treatments work?

First, your dentist determines whether SureSmile® aligners are right for your needs, goals, and constraints.

1

Preparation before the orthodontic treatment

Your dentist takes photos and makes a digital impression of your teeth in order to plan your treatment and design custom aligners. Following this appointment, you will receive your aligners within approximately 4 to 6 weeks to begin treatment at home.

2

During the orthodontic treatment

Your dentist will give you your starter kit, which includes your first SureSmile® aligners and the treatment plan you need to follow. You will typically wear each set of aligners for 2 to 3 weeks, but this may vary depending on your treatment plan. You must wear your aligners for a certain number of hours each day to achieve optimal results.

3

Follow-up after the orthodontic treatment

When the treatment is complete, your teeth are aligned, and you are happy with your smile, our team will fit you with lingual wires and retainers. This step helps maintain the position of your teeth and ensures that your smile remains harmonious over the long term.

FAQ

Are there any limitations to invisible aligners (SureSmile® or Invisalign®) compared to fixed braces?

Yes, like any orthodontic approach, invisible aligners have their limitations. They work very well in most cases, but some complex movements are sometimes better controlled with fixed braces. For example, severe rotations and highly inclined teeth. Aligners also require excellent discipline, as they must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day to be effective.

How long does orthodontic treatment last?

The duration varies depending on the complexity, but is generally between 6 and 24 months. Current technologies often allow for shorter and more effective treatments than ever before.
